   I’ve been using a cape shampoo from James supply but on the last coyote I did I noticed it didn’t really get the smell all the way out. I’m working on a fox right now who’s stinkier than that tote was.
   
   what’s safe to use on the hide that will kill the stink ?

   I wash foxes, bobcats and other small mammals in a Dawn bath with Lysol Concentrate. It's always deodorized them. Coyotes, I use Knoblochs Deodorizer Wash.
