  4. Yesterday (Saturday 18 March) was our first Taxidermy Tech Reunion… a Next Level Training event that I hope will evolve into an annual event. I want to thank everyone for coming and to assure those that could not make it this year that we will make it a key part of our annual planning so that there will be other opportunities in the years to come. We had around 40 people attend, most of which came armed with pen, paper and plenty of questions, but there was not one stranger in the building. It was friendship, fellowship and family. This was not easy to pull off, especially in the middle of a student session but I was confident we would make it happen, primarily because of the those who I am blessed to be teamed with. Matt Harris, Chloe Smith, Chris Reed and Sarah Darville really stepped up and made it all possible. I could not have done this without them nor could I have done it without the Lord to guide me. For those prayers from my Wife and Jeremy and everyone else I am grateful. Everything did not perfectly follow our planned schedule but we were able to address a few specific requests as well and that would not have happened without a team effort comprised of those who I depend on and trust the most. If you were there you know that everything did not go off without a hitch… the weather could have been better, the breaker tripped, the internet went out, the resin was hard and it took us a while to get the heat regulated in the building. It started off a little slow and we ended up cramming 20 hours of information into 9 hours of time with many folks still having a long drive home ahead. In an effort to share as much as we can with our Taxidermy Tech Family we exposed our flaws and our weaknesses as well as our imperfect and sometimes disorganized nature. But as many were witness to, we do not try and hide it and in fact we work through it and even make light of it under the circumstances. Not one among us is perfect. Not even close. That’s how you know you are amongst friends…when it’s ok to just be who you are.
We learned a lot and already have a lot of information and really good “lessons learned” that we can use to make our next event better. Thank you everyone for your patience and again…I sincerely appreciate all of you for making this first Reunion Event a success. I look forward to doing it again next year.
