I got my whitetail cape from the tannery and I have holes around the lip of the eye lid is there a way I can fix it right. Can I just use a drier sheet and super glue. 08C6A7E1-1A66-427F-ACE7-E757CC22D8C9.jpeg AFF4AB86-DE67-4E1F-9B42-A322249F29C2.jpeg

IMO that's a tough spot for a repair. I think if I'm seeing it right that's on the lower lid. I would mount it up use good hide paste and tuck the eyes then using an insect pin/euro pin I would pin it, baby sit it then make the repair after it dries. Apoxie-clay and blend it back in with an airbrush. For commercial work that's what I would do. Tanneries have their downsides and nics are one of those, I seem to get the tear ducts cut all the time. Paste and pins are your friends. Good luck stay safe

What critter said, that great advice and exactly what I’d tell ya . If I thought it was a little to big the only other thing I’d do is a old dryer sheet patch on the inside to get it closed and then do as stated above . It’s really not that big of a deal , I’ve done this on competition pcs with no hits on the score sheet.

I have sewn cuts like that with a small needle and nylon thread. When doing the finish work, cut the sutures and remove.

I would do like Joey says and sew up the hole. After it dries use seam repair putty it doesn’t have a glossy finish on it and accepts paint easily. IMO it hides easier after painting. Good luck.
