Sorry not a fan at all , our great flag shouldn’t touch the ground , let alone have a deer draped over it , plus anytime a flag is presented it stars first as being flown less it’s folded. Sorry for being so harsh . To me that and it’s not the first I seen , is a disgrace to out flag .

In a way I agree but in another way I don’t. This is a veteran’s deer who is just proud of both his flag and deer. So I just believe if anyone had the right to ask for this to be done it’s a veteran. Not saying it’s right to cut on the flag or anything like that because I was thinking the same thing while I was putting it in the form.

I under kinda , I’m a retired disabled vet myself and I know every one is different, I personally wouldn’t have taken the project on , I just don’t get how a deer and the flag go together, now if it were an eagle and it was put with a flag with respect in all manner then I could understand. I believe I posted something on this before as it was on utube or something . Because he is a veteran makes it even more disrespectful as he wore that flag with pride as I did . My apologies again just how I feel when it comes to the flag . It should be flown with pride not used on a deer mount .

No , No stitches down back . On early season deer I only cut at top of head in the long hair , burr to burr then I carefully skin underneath cutting ear but's up to eye brows , skinning as much as possible thru that little hole . I then take a very sharp chisel and cut skull cap as close as I can as possible as if I was sawing it off , just beating with hammer till it’s cut enough to pop out of head in tact. I then just skin rolling cape over the rest of the skull . Hope I explained it were you can understand what I’m saying lol , if not ask away .

13 Point, Have you tried an oscillating saw instead of the chisel? Does the chisel give you clean cuts? Your method definitely sounds worth trying as I hate sewing.

Sorry so long getting back to you was on the ocean fishing all day lol . I’m sure an oscillating would work great , but I do like the control I get with chisel , plus those little saws just became available in last few years , I’ve been chiseling them out lol for 30 years .
