I think it is kind of a waste of a nice bird and a shell bag but I think it looks nice any way. What do you all think? PXL_20230518_201558526.PORTRAIT.jpg

Looks cool to me. Very real/believable. But I'd do a 2nd bird on it's belly showing off all the blues and greens.

I'd have to put it in a glass case with a spent shell or two a few droplets of water and some debri of some sort. Sorry if that offends. I love that mount.

One of the worst shot turkeys I've done. The entire right scapular group was shot off

The one I am in the process of mounting was missing a whole scap. I stole one from my second turkey to replace it. I save most skins, scaps and heads in case I ever need replacements.

Pardon but I gotta comment here. Just an amateur so take it with a grain of salt opening my mouth with real taxidermists in the room. Fella I did a fan wing mount for two years ago had shot the bird three times. Was a cancer fund raiser and he won the bid. Asked afterward what I charged for a mount I replied $$$ + $50 for each additional shot. You did some darn good work there.

Me too but I ain't killed one in 3 years. Replacement stuff is gone

Thank you sir. He had to know it was bad cuz he requested wall mount, straight left.
From the damage, that bird was quartering toward him on the right side facing him. Most of the feathers are gone on the right side of the neck, right side of the circular cape behind the head and front half of the right scaps. And it was shot with 7 1/2 or 8s. Probably less than ten yards cuz the damage was so concentrated

Your a better taxi than I am with that much damage I'd have the famous "well now we can discuss Tail, Beard and Spur mounts" and the dreaded not every bird that's shot is mountable. I hate those talks
