Are you talking about above or below the joint? And is the bird going to be flying or standing and is it a diver or puddle duck?

if the bone matches up put a pc of wire in the bone then put them together put some super glue on it then cover with borax it will make it fairly strong(if it is not on the outside of the body)

yeah, just use a small wire and wrap the bones together with thread or glue or ducttape, whatever is stong enough!

  7. i ran across this yesterday in a hen mallard i skinned. basically the bone inside the skin from the knee to the body is gone. it was splintered into multiple, multiple pieces. the only bone actually left is just a very, very small piece right at the feathers. is it sufficient to just run a wire into the feet as though the bone was still there and rebuild the muscle on the wire with cotton and thread? i'm kinda stuck working on it without a bone to mend. it is for a flying mount so no real weight is on it. help!

bend your wire at the same spots bends as the good leg wrap up to replace muscle the wire alone will be strong enough.

  9. I use insulin syringes to inject water into dried feet. once the needle breaks on get stopped up, I save them. Cut the correct length to replace the bone, slide it over your wire - fixed

  10. thank you both for the advice. everybody on here is always so helpful for those of us just starting out. can't say enough how much it is appreciated
