Now that I finally figured out how to upload.. Here he is.. My story is wonderful the mount.. well... The story.. I read on here, watched some video, talked to my one buddy who has messed around with taxidermy and said it's time to give it a try. My neighbors shot 2 nice bucks and let me experiment on them.. I decided to use the little one as my first.. Got started around 7ish figured ill be done around 2am.. YEAH RIGHT! 7:30 the next morning I finished! You know how many penis enlarging infomercials are on through the morning? The girls gone wild infomercials might have me distracted here and there but... First thing learned... Its longer than you thought dumby! Now to the mount.... Not bad, not great, for free; Ill slap you if you complain.. It's left eye is definitly messed up.. antlers are set to far back... need some more ear base.. Can you give me some feedback?
    Thanks
    Eric

Not too bad for your first try :)
Ears are way down the neck, get them up by the antlers more, need ear butts, antlers tilted too far back, arm pits ... basically it looks like you have the one arm pit on the briskit and the other seems to be around on the shoulder... Twist it back around so the arm pits are where they belong.

Eyes need some work but not bad for first attempt. Also the ears seem to have lost their sharp edge and the markings are off.

Get some reference pics and look closely at the details. Such as briskit, arm pits, ears, etc..

Very good attempt for your first deer :) Hang in there it will come with practise :)

It's a lot harder than it looks, huh?! Rack location, ear-butts (lack of), brisket, and ear edges are what really jumps out at me first! REFERENCE photos are a must!

Make sure you don't use someone else's work for reference. That is a no-no!

    good job keep it up.

  12. those do not look too bad for first attempts. I think we all have room for improvement, and with each mount we look at can see our own shortcomings...
