just did the finish work on my eighth. its a set of horns we found dead a long time ago and a cape from one i killed this year. i see plenty of room for improvement and want to know if yall see anythign im not. i think im getting close to ok but the ear butts are still giving me fits.ive been using the liners without butts and trying to form the butts butts with clay but i cant seem to get them right. i think this is the biggest thing holding me back. i study the reference and still cant get them where i want them. i messed with these butts so long that teh hair started slipping in teh back so i left them alone and chalked it up to experience and more reference time in the future. let me know what yall think. thanks

thats a pretty sweet deer mount, but in the 2nd to last picture, the lip line looks like it came untucked or something, the ears look pretty nice, crisp clean look, the deers left ear where it was split looks a little rough, but not much you can do with it, overall good job, Russ

Your guessing where the brisket goes aren't you. Check your armpit hair, then go read Michael P's post.

T, i agree with you, but until there is a anatomically correct form, that is an acceptable brisket by any judges standard.

Nice mount, other than the $2 eyes.

I am not a very experienced taxidermist, but I would say I agree with the eyes needing to be changed.
