Bear help...

Discussion in 'Beginners' started by DevinCamPA, Sep 4, 2008.

  1. Hey guys....i recently harvested my first bear. I've never done a full body mount let alone a bear. I plan on going again next year also....Anyways how difficult is doing a bear? i've done several deer heads. How hard is the hide prep etc? thanks a lot Whats the best bear vids? I'd most likely send the hide to get wet tanned.

I'm considering doing a half mount also.

Bears aren't that hard. Use good reference and you should have no problems. Wet tan will work. Make sure you use a good tannery and don't try to tan one of these on your own. As afr as the video's I don't have a recommendation, it goes together the same as any other lifesize mammal, just use good reference photos. Good luck

If you've never done a lifesize, a bear is a heck of a place to start. Most forms take a good bit of alteration, so be comfortable with that process before you begin.
