    how should I approach scale tipping like this?

    Those scale tippings are so fine and subtle I would consider using a powder to do it. maybe a silver pearl, or lightest gold peral u can find....

    Getting first fish ready to mount?

    If you dont want smell or oil leak, you need to get all that meat out. Sounds like you may need a cheeck spoon to get that eye area your talking...

    What the biggest mess you've every made related to taxidermy?

    Mixing foam for a big Redfish...I had a gallon jug with quite a bit of thoroughly mixed foam when I sort of bobbled it for a second...long story...

    the real heads work just fine, as long as you clean them out well! I take them off completely then re-attach after. It helps make the job a lil...
