i always use that on squirrels, but use it pure, after skin , clean and wash the skin left it soaked on it until next day, then mount it, it helps...

for the squirrels i have used alcohol too, but normally left them in just overnight, don't need to rehydrate them that way, just apply borax/ DP...

I say it because of that,here methanol is labelled as poisonous by drinking, inhaling or dermical contact on the other hand clinical alcohol...
