Here's a deer a customer brought and wanted remounted. It was mounted last year by a guy down the road. Comments welcome!

Yeah he was much happier. I stained the antlers with the purple stuff. I thought it turned out nice.

    artwildcreate Don't look at me.....

a big difference.. A much better cape makes a lot of difference alone, and then you did a nice job mounting it..

If you don't like the way one looks, it's nots going to get better. I believe in remounting. They are some beutiful racks around that were killed years ago, and the mounts look like crap. It does help to start out with a good looking cape. The cape in the first picture didn't look to good to start with. Your customer should be pleased.

The mount looks much better. The original cape had some severe damage, which really detracted from it. What did the customer say about the damaged ear? Did he know about it before hand?

First mount was not THAT bad, just very rough cape!

i agree, the 1st mount wasnt that bad, just a bad cape which isnt that uncommon either, looks like the guy that shot it drug it on the ground and it burned the hair on the deer. when someone brings me something like that sorry it is what it is. yeah i'll fix what i can, most guys want their own cape with their own antlers so it doesnt matter much anyways with the flaws cause that was what the animal looked like.
