    Surry Community College (North Carolina)
    630 South Main Street, Dobson, NC 27017 -- (336) 386-3244
This one year hands-on program covers one of the four major topics of deer and other game heads, fish, birds, and life-size mounts each quarter. These courses are appropriate for anyone interested in learning the art of taxidermy or for those wanting to improve their techniques. Included throughout each topic is instruction on habitat, casting, operating a taxidermy business, state and federal game laws, how to make specialized tools, and much more. Students can enter at any quarter and can choose between Day, evening or Saturday classes along with lab time open to all. The college is also the new home of the "Taxidermy Mini-Course" previously held at Piedmont Community College for the past 31 years. They also hold a lot of the mini course and competitions: very informative and engaging. Do you know if Rick Robson is still doing that taxidermy program?
