I have heard that you should only tan a coyote skin that was taken during the winter months, if not the fur will "fall out." Is there any truth to this or is the fur just fuller and makes a better pelt?

Does not matter. Skin is skin, but their not worth mounting. I did one shot the last
4 th of July, and the guy insisted on having it mounted. Mounted up just fine, but
imposable to make look nice due to the thin coat that time of year.

  3. They are harder to Flesh/degrease, shave/wirewheel because of the deeper rooted nature of the hair folicals. So these early or Unprime hides often end up with Fuzzy leather and bald spots.
