caught several fish like this today, i've never seen any in the green color phase before here. it looks more like a fish you'd find in washington or oregon.

I was planning on molding and casting this 14 lb one for my son, but he threw it in when I turned to set the camera down..LOL Most of the ones we caught that day were 5 or so lbs two 10s and he got this one. I never heard a kid scream so much. One minute it was oh daddy help me the next no I got him. ;D "yee yee yee oh man oh man"

I am adding the photo anyhow, though its not a mount. It was what I worked on last week...Time with my son!

fished willow here in Ak yesterday with my buddy doug. we caught some nice bows, but they were few and far between. tons of pink salmon a few chums and hooked a couple spawned out kings. his camera battery was almost dead, so we only took a few highlite shots.

    doug fighting a nice bow

here is a flounder i caught from the Route 50 bridge in Ocean City, Maryland. I caught 10 total that day on live minnows and squid. The day before I got hooked on a 40+ inch longnose gar. It fought really hard but i got it up to the top of the bridge. But just before we were able to get it over the wall it fell off the hook.

  15. A few from today.
My buddy and I waded a stream near me to find Northern Hogsuckers.
after a long trek we found an active school.
We each managed a few fish before we decided to call it a day.
They are notoriously finicky feeders and it took us about 45 minutes to find the right pattern.

Its a joy to me to see large schools of these fish, the species only tolerates clean water and is a great indicator species.
A very beautiful fish to me, probably my favorite fish.

Northern Hogsuckers are pretty cool to watch!
Unfortunately I've only encountered dead ones up close.

    He's a little bloated...

  17. OH NO!!!!
    lol

They are fun to watch, we had a school of over 100 at one point today.
ramming stones and flipping them over to chase out the bugs.
very active and very strange little fellows.

Very cool Josh! I always enjoy seeing the twist you bring to this forum with your passion for the "other" fish.
