THis is 45" Musky and a 25" Walley caught during my annual trip to Kenora, ON. Lots of big fish this year as well as lots of great eating size walleye. Both were illegal fish due to their size. But I left them for someone else to enjoy as much as I did!!!!

Umm... so.. when I go out mainly for red-breasted sunnies, it seems that they are most stubborn. Of course when I'm fishing for trout they butt in the way..

Anyways, my dad and I went out looking for sunnies... well we got some.. just some pathetic sizes..and teeny weeny bassies.

    Ehhh Uhhh.....

Well.. we didn't get any decent sunnies... sorry Josh, LOL..

However, my dad always uses worms [I use spinners all the time], and he thought he had a trout on... well I nearly died laughing when he pulled this in.

    ;D

He had to be at least 4 or 5 pounds! LOL not very finicky, just a fatty.

Although I didn't catch it, I can still say I encountered a live one up close! Eh those lips creeped me out as I was removing the hook though.

Thanks Brian, same to you! Such a pretty fish! [and a pretty BIG one at that]

I can't wait to go back to school on saturday, hopefully get some nice fall LMB.....and possibly bullheads. ;D

    Thats awesome!
White suckers have such a neat look to them.
The lips are a bit odd.

As for the sunnies, I got your message and what you have is awesome!

    Haha, thanks
At first I thought it was a hogsucker, but then I was rather confused. You did clear it up and I see why: his snout wasn't long enough! I was thrown off by the color, because the one we studied at school was a lot more pale, but same face. :p

Ohh ok, I'll get everything together.. and I may go out tomorrow.. gosh it's been nothing but hot and humid. There were people swimming and jumping into ALL of the great fishing spots today. Like, I mean parties of 50 people or so. lol just my luck

  9. This is exactly what was needed today!
Its been very stressful lately, all sorts of things going on...............
but this week we have visitors from out east.
We took my cousin and her two kids (3 & 5) for a picnic and decided to bring the poles along.
    What FUN!!!!

I set up some bread crusts on a floating rig and stalked carp.
as soon as I hooked up I would hand off the rod.
    It was a blast!!!!!
they brought in four carp all around 18-20"
Nothing big, but a perfect size for them.

The 3 year old just couldn't wait to get the rod. As soon as she got it she started working on the fish, cranking like she was hauling in a marlin.
We held the rod steady for her, but that was all.
she did the rest. Her brother seemed more interested in netting the fish.

These kids have only fished a few times before and both parents rarely fish. so this is a treat for them.
Tomorrow I will take them back out to try for some bigger fish.

anyway here are a few pictures.

    Great pics again, everyone!

I've been doing some fall bass fishing since I've been at school. Top water all the way!!

I just thought my thumb looked quite interesting in this one...

I miss the red breasted sunnies... these bluegill are UGLY!!!

    Two crazy little fellas...

Then a SPLOOSH followed my lure twice, all the mini bass stopped hitting... it was quiet for a while until another SPLOOSH took my lure under.

  16. nice fish GreenBullhead, you must of hit some hungry sunfish to catch one on a chug bug. Great bait, have a whole tackle box full of them. Hot frog and firetiger are favorite though.

Thanks, I never really find many sunnies at all in the spot I was fishing. It seems every sunfish I've caught there was pretty decent, I'm guessing territorial! I love chug bugs! Storm seems to be lacking in good lures lately, they're getting all fancy with their packaging but where is the stock?? Luckily I bought like 5 at one point last spring when they were on sale. I use heddon tiny and teeny torpedos too.

This one went 10lbs 4 oz, caught it in a private lake in North Central MS, caught another about 45 min later, that went 9lbs 8 oz. My two best in the same day. I returned the 9-8 back to the water, so I could catch her another day.

Another private lake outing for a few bream.

A few Bluegill, and Catfish from Ross Barnett Reservoir.
