Another fish caught on the same trip to Northern Michigan.
My first saltwater fish
Took 2 days out of the shop and went up to the Salmon River, NY. It was my first time going, had a great trip the salmon were running good and the water was way low, made for great fun fishing.
Nice!! Did you see many steelhead?
not when we were up there but I heard their starting to run better now, aslong with more browns showing up. I had a nice brown on but he can off.
Glad ya had a successful trip...we're heading up to fish some erie tribs next sunday.
Only caught 2, but still found it hard to complain.
Nice Fish Kevin.
Mason Creek Thats a great first catch !!
Nice Smallie, how big was he?
I tried to weigh him, but the batteries were dead. hahaha.. I'm guessing close to 4lbs give or take.
Nice smallmouth! Where was that caught?
Mahoning Lake , Armstrong Co.
That lake heats up this time of year..It can be tough other times.
We had a small club tournament there 2 weeks ago and I caught a ton of 12in keepers, but only (1) 4 1/2lb. largemouth. I still thought I had it won.. Ha, I had 10-3/4lbs.. Another guy had almost 12lb with 5 nice smallies and the winner had almost 14lb of Largemouth.. We caught (4) fish over 4lb that day and 2 of those were over 5lb. So the fall can be real good there.. It's a very remote lake. No homes around it. Very beautiful. If you get a chance to go there, go in the fall. Most of the bigger fish came out of 25ft or even deeper.
Went up to Lake Erie on Sunday and fished a couple tribs there. Caught a few nice steelhead. Kept 2 for the grill,,,good fun.
Those are some nice rainbows dude.
I love looking at all the different fish....I don't post much, but I'll throw up some fish porn from the summer.
Here are some from the desert of New Mexico. I spent my time off in the summer hiking to high mountain lakes in New Mexico. It was a blast.
Beautiful pictures! Beautiful fish.
X2 Both you guys landed some nice fish!
Here is a 5.87lb largemouth my boy weighed at the Nationals. One of 2 he caught while there. Not even close to winning big bass though. Several over 7lb were weighed with 1 over 10lb.
Caught my personal best Smallie today. I've caught several 6lb+ Smallies. This one was bigger. Of coarse I forgot I had taken my scale out of my bag at Rayburn, so I had no "official" way to weigh it, but the pictures do not do this fish justice. Air this morning was 29*. Water 46* . My son and I were foolish enough to brave the cold. Only had 2 bites in 6hrs. landed 1 fish and lost another, but I'd say it was a great day. My son never got bit, but he was fishing a lot faster baits than I. Fish was in a tree at 20ft. A fat fish, only little over 20in long, but over 7 inches belly to dorsal. Released him. :
few fish from day and half striper trip. caught lots of fish just no real big ones. hopefully this week we'll do better.
Looks like you had a nice time with them stripe's.
Early fall fly caught striper.
