Dehairing hide

    Can you dehair a hide after it has been tanned. If you can ,would you use lime the same way you would a raw hide.

    It is extremely difficult. I wouldnt recommend it. However, if you want to somehow manually cut the hair from the skin and then sand the hair side to a suede - that would be you're only option. Trying to lime it wont work on tanned skins.

    You could shave it as you shaved your moustache...

    I the true feeling Bruce's words that is difficult to eliminate the hair from skin that has been tanned.
    At least, after being defeated the grain skin will be broken and the hair follicle was still being in pores.

    Also after defeating it you must refine with sandpaper, that too was still being seen the hair follicle.
    Possibly when in the paint with the pigment seldom will be overcome...
