I have a question about my first deer hide tanning job for a rug or wall hanging.

I have my hide in a pickle for 72 hours now. I have a weekend house where i am doing this at and have to leave to head back to another location during the week where I work

    My question is this

Can I leave the hide here in the pickle for 5 more days? I wont be here to keep an eye on the ph. Do you think it would be safe?

    OR

Do I need to take everything with me and try to do the processes after work etc? Is there a stage where i can take a break and put it in the fridge or freezer so I can time my tanning or softening when i am available to work on it?

If you can't keep an eye on it, i'd take it out and freeze.

After three days in the pickle I would neutrilize then freeze.
