   can i thaw flesh pickle and tan or must i salt a bit first.planned to dp hides but want to try the tanning deal.
   
   i was taught to freeze a head/hide for 5 days before fleshing to kill ticks and mites.we then dped. wanting to tan so what is your method when you receive a head/hide. flesh and salt right away,cape and salt..or freeze?

   I always salt and always will ,no matter what tannage i use.
