Painting an Armadillo

Discussion in 'Lifesize Mammals' started by Bubbas, Sep 13, 2006.

  1. Hi All,
Need some ideas on painting an Armadillo. Looked at the old forum but most of the links were not found.
    Thanks,

  2. Kim, most armadillos are on the greyish side. If you stick with the grey tones, darker on the top then the legs, belly lighter then the rest, you should be fine. Some armadillos I observed have a brownish tint to them, and a few are nearly black. You can't go wrong if you stick with those two colors, grey and brown. Also, google armadillo pictures, and you'll be able to pull up some outstanding close up pictures of life armadillos. Those can also guide you along in your painting.

  3. Thanks did ask you said it came out looking pretty good for an armadillo anyway. Client liked it so all is good.
