"Jody Green" deer forms ! here's my finished mount....

Discussion in 'Beginners' started by Warbird, Feb 1, 2009.

  1. Thought I'd try something different than the "McKenzie" WT shoulder forms. I needed to order some supplies from "VD's so I bought one of Jody Green's forms. Pleasantly surprised! Excellent forms for big Illinois deer........John

They fit our Minnesota deer quite nicely, too. I just wish there were more positions available.

I just had to send one back, It was way to big [PAdeer] I sure thought I measured correctly.

I agree there. They do measure them a bit differently than I do. They tend to run a bit larger than the measurements.

I like having a loose fitting cape, so I ALWAYS measure my capes tanned and stretched and then I deduct 1/2 to 1inch from the swell measurement. Never miss!!!

  13. Re: "Jody Green" deer forms !

I have some spare forms ,collected thru the years, that I use to test fit capes. Works best for me. My" tape measurements" don't work right. I guess thats why I have some many spares.
My "Jody Green" deer is almost done. I'll post some pics soon........John

His forms are nice for our Canadian deer also. Hope he's working on more poses! I found the Van Dykes forms were typically on the small side until Jody's came along.

you mean small in general not smaller than what they say
they are always larger than the size you order

  20. Has anyone tried them on a southern deer? It sounds like the forms are bulky. Just want to try out different forms for my showroom to give customers different choices.
