Wrong antlers with wrong cape!

Discussion in 'Deer and Gameheads' started by rice194, Mar 19, 2009.

  1. Mounted wrong antlers with wrong cape so I'm going to rehydrate cape and change antlers. This will be my first time doing this so any advice would really be helpful. Thanks in advance.

If the cape is on the right form, simply re-hydrate the top of the head and cut the stitches. If you bag it overnight, it should be ready to go the next day. I did one a while back and had the right cape on the right form, but wrong rack on it. I thought it would never happen to me, but it did.

  3. Yea if the forms are right, you sould not have a hard time fixing that, just re-hydrate it and swap them!! Josh

I have done this a couple of times and it's pretty easy. Spray the head with a lot of water and place a wet towel on top of the head and around the bases. Simply cut the stitches-remove-install new set- resew !!!
