What's the difference between the older Dakota IV and the newer model ?

Hi, I am new here but have read a lot of good info here for a while and decided to register. :)

On ebay right now the Dakota IV Detail Fleshing Machine can be had for 379.00 + ship:

The newer model of the same machine can be had for 469.99 +ship:

My question is this, for the savings should I go with the older one, it does have a decent warranty and comes from VanDykes as well.

Next question is can you shave with it as well as flesh? I already have an Eager Beaver that I can do most things with but would like something smaller for detail work and small game.

the opinions will go all over the place on this one
    ill give you mine
    ive used both
you couldn't give me the older one
id give my arm to try and stop someone from stealing the new one
with the new one if you set up correctly and match your height your back
    wont hurt
you wont have to adjust the guards with a hammer
the guards are super adjustable(i can shave one cheek on a nats a$$)
the blade is easy to change
the machine is easy to clean and quit
and you wont have to call the better business to get someone to talk to you
when your trying to but it
now you can take that advise from someone who has had both
save your money and get the good one
or a good one there are other good ones and none are cheap
or you can get the cheaper one and youll end up
getting the good one later on after much aggravation

  3. I've been waiting for days for someone to answer this question, but the answer does not make any sense!

Are you saying that the new model is the better one, or the old Dakota IV with the brass guards?

I have a newer one with plastic guards but think I would prefer the old brass ones better.
