Can I rehydrate a bass skin mount, been on the form about a year, with water base hide paste ?

    Thanks Bill

I've been told that it can but the body stil may take the shape of what you have. I've never done this so that's all I can tell you.

Frank's right. It won't fully re-hydrate. I've done it to close the mouth some on a re-furbish in the past. The skin stays really stiff, and scales really want to lift when it dries again. If you can aviod it, I would. A total remount of the same skin would be really difficult.
  4. I did one a couple years back, the body was ok, fins were shot, but the gill cover never relaxed.

  5. I have a steelhead I have been wanting to try this on.
A replica is not an option for it.

    We shall see.
