    Omg its gorgeous! I'd kill for a regular lion skull in that condition. You're really lucky to have it, the turbinates are beautiful and you did a good job cleaning it.
     
  2. Thanks! I took my time on this one since it is for my own collection (not that I rush customer jobs!).
     

  3. I just happened to have a customer who had one he wanted to sell. I didn't ask where he got it from and he didn't tell me, but we did agree on a price and I bought the raw skull and cleaned it.

    This one is not that rare but is the most misidentified skull I have.

    Without a size reference I'd say a llama. Very nice fighting teeth on that.

    I'm going to guess alpaca, the orbits seem large compared to the maturity of the skull to me. Nice pathology of the molars, must have had s small abscess.

    I believe it to be a llama. I found the carcass that was mostly dried and intact.
