a few specific questions about the auto tanner

    first of all do you like it,2nd what kind of crystals to use,3rd how many deer capes do you do at one time,4th what other animals other than deer do you do in it,5th do you tumble or drip dry when you take hide out,6th can you do hides that are just going to be hung on the wall or thrown over a couch and not mounted. thanks i've been trying a search and am not comeing up with the answers to these questions.

    1. Yes I like mine
    2. Crystals that Rinehart sells
    3.1-2 capes at a time
    4. Bobcats, fox etc..
    5.Drip dry then tumble
    6. You can tan hides for flat work but once the dry they will need to be broken to get them soft

    thanks jhawk, do you use the bucktan crystals or the arrowhead ones? do you do bears in yours? how about coyotes? thanks.

    I use the arrowhead crystals. I have not tried a coyote but it should be no problem. there is probably a step in there for degreasing. Maybe someone can explain their method. I send my bears off to a commercial tannery.
