Greasy bear

Discussion in 'Tanning' started by fullsneak, Aug 27, 2009.

  1. I had a large full black bear cape commercially tanned at a large reputable tannery. When I got the bear back from the tannery it was still very greasy and the ears where almost slimy. I paid big money to have this thing tanned and really did not want to spend another day degreasing and cleaning this cape, but I had too. And I don't have the room in my shop to handle cleaning and drying such a large cape...I was a pain in the a_ _!

My question is: Should I have had to do the extra work cleaning this cape when I just paid to have it done for me?

You should not have had to degrese it at all.
