i have been tanning some furs for wall hangers using the krowtan formula...and they are very stiff when dry...i have even tried the supersoft oil from VD..dosent seem to matter how much i try and break it and how much oil i rub into it it just dosent seem to soften up any..im in the process of putting togather a tumbler for longer "break" peroids..figure i will need it when i take the jump into taxidermy here this winter anyways..so is there a way to get it soft without thinning the leather...i cant justify the shaver when i dont even know if im gonna do taxidermy on a business level????????

  2. You likely wont ever the softness you desire unless you shave it thin and tumble and break it.
