The Week in Fish Pictures" ~Year 3~ Week # 50

Warm Greetings from Minneapolis Saint Paul Minnesota! MN is a beautiful State and I enjoy being here this is the second time this year where I’ll be giving a workshop for a week for several folks.

I am teacher of taxidermy as most of you may know and this week I was reminded why I teach. I was reacquainted with a reminded of human nature which drives me and supports my inspiration that touches my soul. I had the opportunity to spend some time with a gentleman and a friend of all of ours here on the forums Mr. Joey Arender from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Joey's workshop reminded me of why we do this thing called taxidermy.
There are always time where we make it look easy and times where we struggle a bit. Joey got to take part in both which we all do from time to time but I was taken back and reminded that the human spirit is what inspires us the most. To see some want so badly to understand and to better them self so they can give their customers a better piece of taxidermy was his motivation and drive to not walk away from sitting across from another man another taxidermist while struggling at one point to perform a task. I got to see first hand how with some thing deeper then just trying or even walking away Joey showed me that when it matters you just fight thorough it will to get to other side.
Now this is taxidermy and not real life as real life is really hard to get though some days but this is what it was so insuring to me that for no other reason then to show him self that it can be done and he can do this for his reasons and for his customers made me remember that we all help each other and inspire each other. Some times we don't make it in business for may reasons or we some times don't get the blue ribbon at a taxidermy competition but just once in awhile you reach down inside your self and remind your self that you are more then accomplishment s of failures you are more then a taxidermist you are some one who matters to others and to your self!

I hope your fish taxidermy season is going well for you all! I have been talking to some of you and the news is getting better from those I have talked to! Carry on and continue to give your clients the best work you can while you make money doing so!

I hope your fish season is going well and your inspired as I ‘m by the great work you all share week in and week out!

thanks for the kind words Rick. You aren't just a Teacher... you teach very very well and gave me a lot of tools to work with. I have some practice to do now and I know in time I can work out what works best for me. I love the way the walleye turned out. The smallie I am not so sure about the barring. But the way you taught me to do one will help me to improve that aspect so much, as well as all of my work. You and Kathie were great folks to spend time with. I look forward to it again. Lilly and Buddy are great as well. Nedxt time we fish LOL

    Thanks Guys

Great fish so far this week. Here's a walleye and perch. Both skin mounts. Walleye was 29 inches, perch was a whopping 7 inches, customer kept it to include in a chase scene.

    Great work everyone

Joey, I think you smallmouth looks great. I love the markings in the head especially. I think you also did a great job pulling off that fleshy look in the lower jaw area on the walleye.

Travis that LMB is excellent and I love the coloring on the eye.

Kevin, I love that brown. The old native stream trout we catch at night once in a while sometimes exhibit those oversize fins, I love the way they look.
