Maybe competition Deer?

    Just learning how to post pictures on here so bare with me. Just looking for some tips or advice from you more expierienced taxidermists. I will try to post some more angles and close ups for you to get a better look.

    Nice mount, I would enter it and those antlers are awesome, talk about charcater that deer has it.

    I would definitly enter that deer. You'll get some help on here but a judge will give you more! Nice mount!

    Big Bucks great job!!!! I love whitetails with odd racks. Is this one you were lucky enough to shoot? Any how, awesome work.

    No a friend of mine shot him. pretty nice deer. i was going to enter him in a competition but theres a different one i think i am going to take . I am going to post some closeups of earbutts and ect. to get some opinions. seems like you can never learn enough from other taxidermists.

    It's difficult, at best, to judge a deer head(or anything) from pictures, much less one picture. That said, your deer looks very good. You will always LEARN more from your mistakes than you will from doing something right by accident. The opinions you get here are worthless to as far as improving your work, none of us can see the details and break the work down piece by piece. Only a judge can do that in a competition. So stop wasting your time with our opinions and enter a competition!

    I can see that the chin is not aligned perfectly as the markings are not straight, Not sure if that is due to misalignment or just the deer. The front lip looks a little full and not centered, but cannot tell with such a small photo from so far away. The ear that is showing also looks like the tip is curled a little.
    You did a good job and you should go to a compitition and see how it goes. If you go with a open mind, and thick skin and try to learn from the judges, you willl learn a ton.
    Old fart is really correct too. The judge that can look at it closely and see every part up close con judge it fairly, we can only judge based on the photograph and one dimension, he can see it in full dimension and really help you out.
