Shaving without a machine

    A skife knife is for thinning eyelids, nose and lips. I wouldn’t dream of using it for anything else. Before I bought a fleshing machine, (which was the best investment I ever made with regard to taxidermy) I used a fleshing beam and an Alaskan Ulu knife - the best fleshing knife I have.

    I used an Ulu also for fleshing the big chunks off before using the round knife on the raw skin at the end of my taxidermy run.
