I wrestled this thing around the workbench all day. I am tired, and i bagged him up to tweak it tomorrow. Lots of work....cut apart a bobcat form and re-assembled it as a housecat.

Duck Norris, That ringneck is very nice. I can imagine it blowing by me before I get my gun up.

Just curious, Adam, why didn't you wrap it? Your wrapped critters look great and have given me lots of inspiration!
Cat looks pretty good, I think, though the front arms look like they are too far forward. I tried one that came out so bad, I considered submitting it to one of those bad taxidermy sites. I've got 2 more roadkill cats in my freezer I plan to try out soon. One thing for sure, they will be better than the last one.

I was going to do it as a wrapped mount or a carcass cast, but for whatever reason I decided I needed a challenge. The bobcat form I used was fairly close in measurements anyway and just needed bulk added to it and to shorten the legs a bit. It was a huge cat. It was probably pushing 20 pounds, most of which was in 1/2" of fat along the sides and belly. Gross. I learned one thing from the whole ordeal and that is whatever you think you are going to charge for a domestic, charge more. They are a LOT of work. Especially when the owner doesn't supply you with pictures of the animal because they have none.

The only thing worst than rushing to complete a mount for a show is finding out I can't go. This would have been my first competition. [IMG][IMG]

Hi all, I now have a lot of work, so little time on the internet.
Bransboyt, I love your ducks, I'm just happy when you show your work.
Babak, your progress is striking, keep it up! Do not stop there.
And that's what I did today, at least began to make small birds lose Skill
