And here's my most recent one, I know it's not awesome but for only being my second bird I think it turned out pretty decent.

I have since groomed the feathers after hanging him as you notice on the wing tip and it looks a lot better, not half as good as most of you guys though! I'll keep at it and getting better with each one!

I've killed hundreds of Black duck in the 45 yrs that I lived in NJ and that is one of the best mounts I've seen.
    Great job.

This is the thinnest skinned bird I have ever done. Not looking forward to doing any more of them anytime soon.

Brooke the bird I mounted up yesterday looked much like that. Sometimes I can't help but be angry at god for creating pin feathers. LOL

We get a lot of Canvasback here. I've skinned wheeled and washed 5 this week...All look like this one. I asked KMA if there was such a thing as a Canvasback that wasn't pinfeathered in its neck and he said "yes...1 every 26th bird"....so at least I have something to look forward to. :)

Had a friend that did & he said it was too easy. Like shooting a chicken off your fence post! :D

Finally go a break from my work schedule so I decided to do the first of my teal pairs dead mount. This is my first dead mount so I'm sure there is some learning how to stack and arrange all the birds. Hopefully i can work on this a bit more through the weekend. I have the BW and GW and will add the cinnamon later on when I get a pair.

Here is a Pintail that I mounted the other day. I won't forget him either. I was wearing sandals, and dropped a big glob of scortching hot glue on my big toe. Needless to say.....I am pretty sure my toe is a nice medium rare under the big blister...OUCH! It hurt so bad, I couldn't even cuss

That is a beautiful mount, where you're from are the beaks usually a little darker than normal? I notice the beaks on our drakes here are usually a pretty bright blue.

I think the beaks are a bit lighter. I just through some rough paint on, and will lighten it up a bit later on.
