Mallard (female). The bird was a bit rotten. Tried to save - how was this possible.

i seem to always love a "challange" anyway, my old taxidermy friend gave me this skin that we think has been in the freezer for 20-35 year(salted skin) anyway he gave it to me and asked if i could mount it, anyway i got a good friend of mine to send me a cast
common shelduck, skinned on the back and the head was broken off,
so this is how the skin looks, and the belly and under the wings are covered in blood
and some sewing
and i sew the incision on the back and made a new one on the breast
and after washing it 6 times, in hot water with very strong chemicals....
i will post a photo of the bird finnished,

just shows that old birds in the freezer that are in horrible shape can be saved with some hard work.....great work, it came out fantastic
