Aaron, I can tell you love them, and mount them beautifully. Your little quail always look alive. Window kills are usually in a perfect shape...... except the head/neck. I was planning to make my bird with low head, but could not make a good job to cover that bold spot... so this AM I went with a walking bird.
Babak, sure you can PM me. This is we are here for ;)

thats true Igor, window-birds always have a bold spot somewhere on their head. I got the most beautifull male sparrowhawk and I can´t wait to thaw it to reveil it´s bald spot :D ;)

and what a nice Christmas card boid Ole ;) ;D

igor - is that a hartlaubs turaco I see flying in the background? any close ups?

big fan of your birds - love em

  11. Nice quail Aaron, igor! Cripplecreek, good job on first pose, I have a Pintail I'm about to do, I may try that myself. Ludvik, Waterfowler looking good!

  12. I finally had some time to do some birds. They were all badly shot, but a good learning experience. I did give the Shovler a nose job, I am going to get a better quality bird and do a nice one to hang in my house. I just tried to use a standard sprig head.

Kudos to ALL that post on this thread, Although there are a couple who whenever they post make me feel like a "Hacksidermist" :D You Euro guys, Alex, Ludvik, Etc, and especially Igor WOW!! Amazing talent out there!! Ludvik you WILL forever be the best "amateur" out there LOL. Nice work!! Here's my two wholesale birds for the day , common, old, ringneck pheasants Nothing special, but the one did have an almost 27 inch tail! Not terribly common to see them that long. Now I am off to skinning swans, Ugh!! :)
