I was given a caribou today from one of my customers. It has already been tanned and am unsure of how it was tanned. The only methods of tanning i am familiar with using are wet tans and dp. The hide on the caribou is pretty soft and flexible but the ears, lips, nose, and eyes are hard. Should i only rehydrate the stiff areas with like a wet towell or not? If so what method or solution would be used to do this? Thanks for any input

this is going on a shoulder mount. the leather is very soft like rug quality. Wouldnt that be good enouph to mount directly onto a form?
