99% Anhydrous Isopropyl Alcohol

    A local salvage co has cases and cases of quarts of this product. It is selling for 1.49/qt. Can it be used the same as denatured alcohol...what IS its intended use? The container looks like a quart of oil.

    Appears to be Rubbing Alcohol......altho most rubbing alcohols are 50%.............ethyl-alcohol would be denatured I believe.....

    George The older I get, the better I was.

    It's standard rubbing alcohol BEFORE water has been added. See it more in Europe than here.

    Alcohol is mearly a wet desiccant(drying agent) it should work for taxidermy purposes. I buy methanol for $2/gallon from my LP dealer.
