Big Gill gets new life (pics) this ones for you Zimmie

    Finished a nice gill my father-in-law caught back in the 60's. Bad paint, eye, and fins. I bought a repro set of fins from Josh K (thanks Josh) and went to work. This first pic is of the back side and show side with fins cut off and paint stripped. Notice how the fish was sewn in the back.

    Nice save Brian. I'm SURE he can appreciate it even more now. (I don't think it was too bad a job for that era, even if they did stitch them up back then. LOL)

    Thanks for the comments. My father-in-law was in the office the day I brought it in after completion and I showed him the before picture only. I told him the "after picture" was hanging on the wall behind him. The look on his face was priceless when he viewed his re-done gill on my wall.
    Randy, gill was 11 1/4 and I think he told me it was 1lb 4 or something like that. The pictures I posted make the fish look more streamlined than the actual fish though. It's a beefy looking fish in person. Maybe because I had to reduce the pics to fit.
