Should I put hide paste on the inside of turkey skin before mounting? Will it help the feathers set? Thanks

I would skip the hide paste, most turkey guys will tell you to mount the skin on a form so it is a little loose, and then inject caulk under the skin either before sewing it up completely or through small incisions. I use Alex plus latex caulk in black. You can attatch a small rubber hose to the nozzle of the caulk tube to help reach the hard spots. You want to simulate the layer of fat that you took off the skin. then groom backwards any feathers you want to stand up. Keep an eye on it while the caulk dries, you can have from a few days to a week to adjust feathers depending on humidity in your shop. Hope this helps.
