Acrylic paint advice

Discussion in 'Fish Taxidermy' started by Nate Thompson, Apr 23, 2010.

  1. I currently use an air brush and am semi-comfortable with it. I would like to make an attempt at painting a fish with acrylic paints and a brush. My only question is how would I make the halo's for spotting with this medium without getting the sharp edges? My first fish with this method will be a river brown that I just finished carving. Any info is greatly appreciated.

You can tap the paint with your finger immediately after you put in on or lightly use steel wool and buff VERY lightly after it dries........

My advice would be to practice with your airbrush until you are" totally comfortable" with it. Hand painted hoalos always seem to look like hand painted halos.
