I have the same problem. If I need to post something long, like if I have a big list of things for sale, I just have to type it all on Word and paste it in.

I searched for this problem in some forum administration discussion boards and I think I have found a solution.

Apparently this is a problem only affecting IE 8 users. If you have another browser, such as Firefox or Chrome, you can switch to it and eliminate this issue.

Otherwise, here is a fix that should work for IE 8 (Internet Explorer):
While visiting the Taxidermy.Net Forum (like right now),
    In your menu bar,
Go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings >
    Click the "Add" button
This will add "taxidermy.net" to the list of "Websites you've added to compatibility view".
    Then click Close.

This should eliminate the problem. Thanks.
