Wanted to take a minute and give credit where it is due. I just purchased this DVD from TTU and thought that it was extremely well done. Filmed with great quality, very informative, and he puts together a beautiful bird.

I plan on buying one, and a few of his turkey forms also.

  4. I didnt think it was filmed well at all. No close ups of what was going on. It would have been better if you could see what was going on and step by step, maybe not a seminar.

harry has more then one dvd. one is a 20 dollar seminar dvd sold by WASCO i think and one is a in studio dvd that costs 40 and is sold at taxidermy training unlimited. tons of close ups nothing left out in his studio dvd. this video is much like the tim jordan dvd BUT harry covers painting the head (with the best paint schedule there is imo, better then cally morris's) i was very disappointed for spending 57 dollars on the tim jordan video because he never really went over how to use or paint or instal the head at all. the only thing thats not covered in harrys is the skinning but he does explain the process, and you can get randy lifes dvd from TTU that covers how to case skin a turkey like harry does. i was totally happy with harrys dvd but tims disappointed me.

harrys dvd is the best around

Ok I can't take it anymore!!! LOL I just bought the Harry Whitehead DVD. I recently purchased the Tim Jordan DVD and thought it was great. I'd like to learn a couple different methods though and then choose which method I like best. One thing that I noticed is that Harry Whitehead uses artificial drumsticks and severes the leg. Tim Jordan Doesn't sever the leg and wraps his thigh. I've got 2 birds in my freezer and will probably try both methods to see what comes out looking the best. To be honest though I can't imagine that severeing the foot could look better than not severing it. Just my 2 cents.

For Harry Whiteheads, go to www.taxidermytrainingunlimited.com. For Tim Jordans you'll have to Google Jordans Bears Den Taxidermy. He's in Northpoint, PA. You have to get his DVD direct from him. I highly recommend Tim Jordans. I've painted Turkey heads before so I didn't buy the video for that. They're not too hard IMO. He goes through everything except for painting the head and the legs. Everything else he makes look easy! He'll aslo help you and answer any of your questions if you have any problems which is worth a lot as well.

As the posts have clarified, Harry is in two DVD's, and the one that I referred to from TTU is filmed in a studio with very good close-ups and tips. Have not seen Tim Jordan's, but it sounds good as well.

Smeja, I need to point something out that you're mistaken on or I misunderstood your terminology. Tim's 1st DVD does cover inserting the head onto the form and properly tucking of the skin under the neck. It's doesn't cover prepping, mounting, and painting of the head. We're planning another DVD for these processes and discussed including an anatomy overview on this DVD as well.
