I have my first Texas Dall head to do. I just got the cape back from the tannery. The shoulder area has a lot of matted and tangled hair. Do you just comb this out and if so will you loose a lot of hair from this area. Any help would be appreciated!

if its really matted, you may need to pick it with an icepick or a very coarse toothed comb

It is wet tanned, but pretty matted. I will plan to use a course comb like a dog comb first and then a fine slicker comb. Thanks

you could always use a kitchen fork,, or a tennis shoe. Thats what I would do.
