  2. Looks like a great start, but needs some more layered colors to add depth. Now you've got it to the point where you can start having fun with it. Add some transparent colors and brighten it up with some scale tipping. The worst thing you can do "and it can be difficult" is to get in a hurry to have it done. Separate the fish into sections to work on separately. Head, fins, side etc. This makes it easier at least for me to not feel rushed. In a nutshell, I'd say you've got a nice base now its time to start painting! Have fun,

    Was that cast made from a mounted fish? Just seems ..... some of the natural detail seems missing? IMHO Dan

    huge walleye blank i got off ebay.....not sure about it...mouth was full of molding and had cracks everywhere....smooth spots that i tried making scales??? added fins and painted
