Dakota Pro Chatter

  1. Hello Hudson,

    Doug actually posted as I was getting ready to respond. Randy (now running family business) and Donny have redesigned the S&S with not only the samll business in mind who is looking for a quality pc of equipment but also our tannery friends. We believe....no....we KNOW it is the best equipment on the market. Randy is working on posting the design on our web-site, pictures were taken just late last week by my 2nd cousin...his daughter...lol we TRUELY are a Family business. Dad would be so PROUD of Randy and what he has done....and always keeping in mind Quality, Customer and Ethics....a tear :) Thank You for asking.
    The tannery workers worked closely with randy and donny and we achieved their requests, needs and satisfaction. We Thank Them ALL for their Patience....lol. Stopped in at Dougs yesterday and chattered for a bit...lol. We had quite a few lucky guys and gals with bucks to hang on the buck pole for opening day...fun fun fun.

    I'm sorry I have to answer superdave too while i'm on here. Surperdave, no I have not personally owned a Dakota, but have had a few in the shop to fix.

  2. Called Van Dyke again yesterday, they said my pro is at the machine shop, I should have it back by the end of next week.
     

  3. Best of Luck to You Superdave......I'm surprised their customer service didn't call you to let you know the status........keep up with your machine/investment.
     
  4. Yippee, called Van Dyke today, my machine is on its way back to me.
    They completely replaced the whole inside of the machine, the only original part is the housing.
    When I aks what will it cost me, NOTHING.
    Cant wait to try it out.
    Good customer service from Van Dykes, Ive had the Machine for 5 years.
     
  5. AWESOME superdave....Enjoy that machine.....You Deserve it..... It will be like a brand new machine....Just in time for Christmas....

    that's great to hear that van dykes took care of you. i have heard of others battling chatter issues. i will be curious to see what the problem turned out to be. i have been fortunate the i haven't had such issues with mine, but its good to know they did back it up.
     
  7. I had every intention of having to spend 3-400 bucks on it, I also got a tip from a couple other people who have the pro,
    they stopped using the stainless blades and went to the soft steel blades. That stopped their chatter problems.
    Olys never did say what the problem was, they just went ahead and replaced everything.
     
  8. Well I got the machine today, put back together and




    works great!!!!!
    nice smooth shaving, I shaved 1 deer and 8 bobcats today.
    Van dykes customer service after owning the machine for 5 years was exceptional.

    what did they say was wrong with it and glad to hear they made it right for you i have read this thread alot, and sounds like you done good with it today...great to hear
