Matuska has a look that is realistic & seem to fit our NY deer really well.

  3. I have used a number of forms throughout the years beginning with Danny Fosters... but the most common form we used during our most productive years were Ben Mears forms. We occasionally used Joe Coombs for specialty mounts but production was almost exclusively Mears. They just seemed to be right for the deer I mounted in the Piedmont area of Southwest Georgia.

This subject has been covered a million times, but what the heck. I pretty much only use Matuska. I used to use a lot of Coombs, but between a better fit, a better look, and speedee delivery, I stick with Matuska. I will use McKenzie when a pose is selected that Matuska doesn't have. But you won't find a form that fits better than Matuska...IMO of course.

  5. joe coombs imo has the best look, but the others that were mentioned are nice too.

I use foam mannikins. The OTS ones are nice too.

  7. I use mears, mckenzie, matuska, Matt Thompson, research, Ozark woods, meders and ohio's.

  8. Twisted.

Twisted. Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens.

Rick Carter, then Revolution, then Gene Smith, Then Matt Thompson.

Yes, foam manikins are the best! When starting out, use the best to do your worst work on.

Ben Mears, they have the big head and neck look that my customers love. They work great on big deer. I have tried all the rest only a few of coombs forms work. I like rev. but have problems with ordering and getting forms.
