Wow this year is flying by. Thanks to all of you that posted last month. Great to see so many new guys and gals trying their hand at turkeys. We have been busy with deer season and have not had time to mount turkeys. I usually have most of my birds finished by now but I am only about half way there. I'm sure most of you have been busy as well. Our deer gun season ended here last Sunday and hopfully most of the mad rush is over until turkey season. For some reason we seem to get more work done in the shop from now until mid March than any other time of the year. Is this the case for most of you guys as well or is it just me? I have several birds that I have mounted but still have to finish the habitat for and will post some pics when I get them done. For those of you that have birds done lets see some pics. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and maybe that wont be the only turkey we see for a while.

If I can help in any way please call or pm me and I will do my best to assist you.
I really would like to thank you guys for letting me do this thread. This has been great and I have been blessed to meet several people and build some new friendships.

A big thanks goes out to Ken for starting this site and to all of you that get on here and share with others.

    Tip of the month

Don't be afraid to try something different

If you do the same thing every time you will get the same result

Pay close attention to reference the smallest things sometimes make the biggest difference in a convincing mount.

Take a picture of your mount and look at the picture sometimes your will see something there you don't see in the mount.

    Thanks Brett D

two more. the guy got pretty lucky on that gobbling bird, i auctioned off a turkey mount to the NWTF at our local chapter banquet. so hes gettin this mount which he killed for 150.00 :'( on top of that our control arms on the truck went out. and the bodyshop we took it to was owned by the same guy. so ive got to mount his 2nd bird out of work of trade ::)

Casey...... you should be able to get a tax foam from your NWTF chapter for the full price on that turkey, our at leas I do. You getting things around for the NWTF show in Feb.? I should have my things together for my base by the first of the year. Have to set the body up & paint feet & head everything else is ready to be put together. ;D

My tax person told me that the only thing you can write off when you donate mounts to a non-profit organization is the cost of the materials.
You might want to check that. Maybe it is different in different areas or maybe there is a way around it.

Fighting Rio. I went for something a little different with this one. It is supposed to mimic the bird getting ready to jump up to "meet" the challenge of another fighting tom.
