Discussion in 'Deer and Gameheads' started by Daniel Callan, Dec 7, 2010.

  1. Here's a buck that just came in.
    27" inside , 11 points
to bad the longest point is only 8 1/4 "
I'm thinking about 160 gross score?

    What do you all think?

Rack was scored at 162" gross and 149 4/8 net

Unfortunately he can only get spread credit equal to the longest main bean, but Damn he's got some spread. Won't score as high as you think because of that.

X2, but very impressive. Width looks good but on avg is only 10% or so of the overall score.

Something looks wierd there. With the bump between the bases and it looks like the antlers come out the side, I wonder if it was injured or the skull cap is actually broken.

That's why B&C score crap is just that....crap! :) So MANY people would dismiss that deer as "not worthy" simply because of the score. More times than not a "score" takes away the significance of the deer more than it enhances it.

I really think if I were ever lucky enough to kill a "book" deer I would not even have it officially scored. I've seen too many people so dissapointed in missing the "book" by a few points......but before they found out their "score" they were elated as hell.

Nothing wrong with those who choose value of score over valuue of memories........but i'm just simply one who does not.

Personally i'd take that wide sumbitch over most typical 170's I have ever seen.

U know we allways see pic of big bucks. But win r we goin to be the one pullin the trigger on them. I wash i could be so lucky. I guess it is batter to mount them thin killin them. We would sooner or latter run out of walls to hang them on.

Wow, that is a wide one. Probably won't be able to do a sharp turn on that one, for the wall anyway!
