    The Week in Fish Pictures~ Week #24 March 16 2007- March 22 2007

Good Day from Grand Rapids Michigan and the Michigan Taxidermy Association 25th Annual Convention! I post to you this week from the MTA show. I have been to many conventions over the years and I have meet and seen lot of great work but I must admit this is in the all time tops for me.

First it is the 25th anniversary of this great associations convention. With several hindered members and a show that boasts over 250 mounts it is a big show worth seeing. The show is conjunction with the Big Grand rapids sportsman show, which is gigantic! The members are great and they all make you feel like family! If you have never been here or were thinking of a show worth your time and your money to see and participate in it is this one for sure to make your top 3 on the list!

I will post some awesome pictures of the fish and a few other neat things to see. I was lucky and felt like a kid as I got to meet one of my all time idols in Mr. Dale Cornetet Dale has been one of the great fish artist of all times. So for me personally this was very cool! Here's a largemouth I finished this week:

I mounted this 7 pounder on a form from McKenzie and it is the best fitting form I've ever ordered. If all fish mounts were this easy life would be much easier. I did the gold scale tipping prior to sealing with fungicidal sealer and then finished it out with Polytranspar water-based paints using a Paasche VL#3. Wet Look gloss to finish.

Again, I enjoy all the posts you folks put up. Seems to make my work seem so plain though.
